“In times of adversity comes inspiration” JH Lapage 12.4.2020 13:48

The last few weeks have been challenging to say the least, with such sadness and uncertainty all around it feels so selfish to be thinking of yourself and your business. With both myself and John having fabulous Sisters working at the frontline of the NHS the current situation is both scary and sad and you can only hope and pray that your loved ones will be safe.
But Lapagemade did not just happen overnight, it did not just arrive oneday in a box ready to go, its taken hard work and sacrifice and years of long days and short weekends on Johns behalf to create the succesful business that Lapagemade is today, and that is why we have to make sure we come through this. It pays our bills and enables us to have the life we have. Don’t get me wrong it does not pay for months on the Beach in Barbados each year, but more than runs to a Chippy tea in Whitby a couple of times a year, and to be fair I am more than happy with that as no swimsuit is required.

Because of that LapageMade is still here through these times and we are adapting so that when all this is over we will be here to continue to mark the big moments and occassions in your lives, because thats what we love to do and what John is so good at.
John is not attending Markets and Shows at the moment, and I am not sure if its his customers, fellow traders or his second and third breakfasts on Market days that he is missing but I have a suspicion that its a mix of all three.
Markets and shows are where John not only sells his set ranges but also one off items and special additions of certain designs. As we don’t have that outlet at the moment, we have created a “One Off” section of the shop on the website so that you can see other items we have for sale at any one time. It will be great place to purchase some fabulous one off pieces that won’t always make it to the online shop.

We are still posting out via Royal Mail and couriers but whilst always adhering to social distancing and safe practices. You will at least once a week spot John queueing outside our Local Post Office two metres apart from other locals come rain or shine. Our My Hermes Lady has been a godsend and its times like this when your relying on people for the sucsess of your own business that you will never forget their hardwork and determination.
So thats us for the moment… as like everything things change and we can only adapt as far as we can and as far as we are allowed and we must listen to the advice given and hope for the sake of everyone that we ge through this soon. We are so thankful to Customers old and new, who are still ordering and emailing, sending gifts to loved ones marking occassions that could easily slip by when you cant see people.
And to Mr Lapage “If we can through this we can get through anything !!! ” I am sure that will always be our Moto!!

Stay Home and Stay Safe
